Protect your pet from cold weather & help rescue organizations

The midwest and most of our country is undergoing a cold wave right now.
What special precautions should we do to keep our four-legged friends safe and what can we do to help?

#1 Do not leave your pet in the car. Your car acts like a freezer. Never let your dog stay in the car in the winter.
#2 If you have a dog that lives in an outdoor dog house, bring them into the garage or shed in this cold weather. We believe that dogs and cats should be an indoor pet. Do not leave pets outside at all in below freezing conditions.
#3 Protect your dog with warm winter sweaters and coats.
#4 Donate to your local shelters as they are working overtime to help provide food, shelter and love to animals that are struggling in the worst of conditions.
#5 Volunteer for a animal rescue organization

Shelters and rescue organizations are in need of old blankets, towels, food, kitty litter, bleach, mops, paper towels, small beds, pet bowls and foster homes.

A few organizations that we like are http://www.aspca.com, http://www.mi-aan.org/
http://www.michiganhumane.org http://www.macsshelter.org/,http://www.michigananimalrescueleague.org/

Let's keep our furry friends warm and cozy and help those with no voice!
